Massage Seating
Traditional massage systems designed for automotive seating keep the seat in a fixed position while massage features act on the occupant. Mechanical rollers, pneumatic bladders, and other similar devices require additional hardware to be added to the seat. These devices kneed the muscles and soft tissues to mechanically reduce tension and improve circulation. This is a REACTIVE technology, meaning it is used to reduce tension after the tension and fatigue have set in. Anti-Fatigue Motion Seating
Motion or anti-fatigue seating is new to the automotive industry. Unlike massage seating, the seat back and bottom move gently over time throughout the drive. In addition to moving the seat back and bottom, the Comfort Motion algorithm can actuate any other system in the seat such as lumbar, bolsters, heat and cooling, existing massage function. These small movements collectively redistribute the occupant’s body weight in the seat over time, continuously transferring compressive and shear stresses to new and different tissue. This is a PROACTIVE technology, meaning it is designed to preempt the tissue tension and fatigue, reducing the discomfort associated with it.
