Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause your device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS or iPad OS device in hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.
Leaving your device in direct sunlight for an extended period. Using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for an extended period, such as GPS tracking or navigation in a car, playing a graphics-intensive game, or using augmented-reality apps.
If your iPad gets too hot, it can experience problems like battery drain, forced shutdown, and even a total meltdown.
You’ll likely notice this heat in the device’s corners, especially in the new iPad Pros and iPad Air. That’s because heat rises, and with nowhere to go, it pools in the edges.
Furthermore, the vents on the bottom of the iPad must be more significant. Plus, heat rises, so unless you use your iPad while hanging upside down, the internal heat needs to build up to the point where the only place to vent is the bottom speaker vents and through the metal chassis.
Various factors to these heating issues in an iPad that overheats like Environment, Charging issues, and Processor exhaustion. You are also aware that what happens when your iPad gets too hot like App slowdown, Display dimming, Slow charging & Battery damage.
Based on basic research below are a few current in-market solutions based on Blower Fan in a chassis at the back of the iPad.
Thermoelectric Cooling Technology is based on a concept where no Exhaust Fans may be needed.
Due to the rising temperatures in iPads and other portable devices, a display cooling solution beyond a simple fan that maintains the device temperature within operating parameters is desirable. High temperatures can cause the display to dim or go dark, and some units will go into a low power mode to conserve batteries at the loss of performance. A Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) or Peltier Device cooling solution is good. The temperature range for the Pilots Cockpit solution is small enough that the “heat pipe” approach could be successful. May not require any external power source. If TEC is required to augment the “heat pipe,” power is available within the cockpit. A solution that does not include or utilize a fan for cooling would be best,
and it must ensure that it does not infringe on existing patents. Lightweight construction can be attached to the thigh as a “kneeboard.”
ClimaCon® is a unique patented technology that allows the user to control its temperatures between 32° F and 140° F at the touch of a button. ClimaCon®’s novel heat exchange design makes heat dissipation extremely efficient while still allowing the unit to be very lightweight and compact. This small, efficient unit can be integrated seamlessly into a vast range of temperature-controlled wearable products with long battery lives and very little added weight. ClimaCon® advantages:
– High rates of heat dissipation
– Easy and precise controllability of cooling/heating
– Ability to rapidly alternate between cooling and heating (within seconds)
– Long battery lives of products
– Low added weight
– Small form factor
Dhama cooling case for iPad that will fit everyday use of the iPad and especially when you need it most – like while working in warmer conditions.
- The cooling case runs with one thermoelectric cooler and two quiet fans which cools the graphite sheet quickly.
- The graphite sheet which will be in contact with the iPad heating area, draws heat across the back and maintains normal temperature over iPad.
- The cooling case has an inbuilt rechargeable li-ion battery and switch to turn it ON/OFF.
- The type-c connector is provided to charge the casing.
- Remarkably effective.
