Many Rear-View Cameras used to detect obstacles when reversing is normally not protected from dust, rain and snow. Under ideal environmental conditions the cameras provide a clear and unobstructed view to the driver when reversing. However, in winter weather or under not ideal conditions the rear-view camera does not provide a view that is useful for the driver.
Design HMI working with FZB Technologies is developing a solution that keeps the camera lens within the package space available at very nominal system cost add. Adds to reliability of the rear-view camera and provides driver a clear view when reversing.
Design HMI and FZB Technologies will work to complete production ready design based on the rapid prototype part already developed.
