Luxury cars have auto adjust for all features like seats, steering wheel, exterior mirror and even climate control. However, the interior rear view mirror still must be manually adjusted which can be irritating at times.
FZB has developed a micro brushless motor with patented gearing mechanism which can be used to adjust mirror through mirror adjust switch and set in memory. This way with the touch of the memory function the interior mirror also automatically adjusts to the correct position like other functions.
Notes to the Design:
- Friction Pad: It is used to apply friction and sustain the position of the whole structure and make the hand-adjust function feasible.
- The rotation of the motor will be transferred into the up & down/right & left rotation of the rear view mirror by the helical gears/worm & worm gears.
As you can see there has been further design and the concept is ready for 1st stage prototype development.
Both the brushless motor and gear mechanism are targeted to run with no discernable noise and minimum design changes to the rear view mirror.
Speed of adjustment would be same as exterior mirror.
Further design details as below – the intent is to attach the motor assembly to the rear view mirror using 3M attachment strip.

Luxury cars have auto adjust for multiple features with the exception of front IP mount, after market smart phone holders and / or rear seat displays. Based on the direction of morning sun it is very easy to have white out of the display.
It is inconvenient to physically adjust the display while driving. In the rear seat, especially with young kids in child seat, it is very difficult to adjust the fixed iPad or other displays mounted in the back of front seat.
FZB Technologies have developed a Brushless Micro Motor and Gear Mechanism that is noiseless and allows easy adjustment of the display to avoid whiteout affect.
FZB micro brushless motor with patented gearing mechanism which can be used to adjust through wired or wireless controller. You can also integrate a light sensor which can auto adjust based on level of sun glare on the display.
