4. Multi-touch feature evoMouse

9. HandScape demonstrated a “smart case” for iPad Air

This is a prototype of their technology. The HandScape “smart case” will attach to the back of an iPad Air and enable the user to interact with the iPad using all fingers from the back panel and “see” their hands through the iPad.

Developers can use the HandScape software and SDK to provide an intuitive means to see, tap and swipe on-screen objects without obscuring the screen with their hands. The smart case allows for 1-handed and 2-handed interaction with games, maps and other next-generation applications.

11. Repellix SuperHydrophobic Ceramic Coating

Two side-by-side cellphone PCB’s are immersed into water. The Repellix coated PCB (right) appears silvery, as if a force field were pushing the water away. What we are observing is the reflection of light from the air/water meniscus layer surrounding the Repellix coated board.

As the Repellix board is removed, it remains completely dry, in contrast to the uncoated PCB which wets from the immersion.

CarPlay-enabled in-dash receivers

While Google’s Android Auto has been making rounds in the news since last year, the CES 2015 event finally saw firms incorporating the platform in their cars and in-car products. In addition, Apple’s Android Auto counterpart, CarPlay, has also been stealing the spotlight as several of the in-car systems have been designed for both platforms.

Big car manufacturers as well as the automobile accessory-making firms at CES 2015 have shown off products using Google and Apple’s automobile-centric offering at CES 2015. Volkswagen, Kenwood, Parrot and Pioneer are some of the brands that have introduced their Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-enabled in-dash receivers, multimedia receivers and other infotainment systems at the event.

It is worth mentioning that Android Auto will also be arriving in vehicles from other popular automobile brands including Audi, Bentley, Chrysler, Hyundai, Maserati, Renault, Nissan and more.

Smart cars: infotainment and safety

Major automobile manufacturers are no longer necessarily waiting for conventional motor shows to present their innovation

Ford, which has attended the CES and various other high-tech trade shows for many years, was one of the pioneers in this area, and for good reason: the US manufacturer was one of the very first to install a connected system in its cars, namely its famous Sync system, which is now fitted throughout the entire range (on a standard or optional basis depending on the model), and Version 3 of which might be unveiled

ing; last year, for instance, Audi unveiled the Virtual Cockpit, which is now fitted in the latest version of the Audi TT, at the show. This year, the German automobile manufacturer is expected to show its innovations in connected and self-driving vehicles, on-board screens, multimedia systems, and new lighting technology fields.

The Bluetooth 4.0-enabled smart gauge

is about as simple to install as the wee cap it replaces. Technology uses combination of energy management technology and single CR2032 button battery for each individual sensor unit connects to the companion app on an Android or iOS smartphone.

Each tire receives its own unique identifier that allows accurate readouts to be provided for the individual tires, with a three-level alert raised on the phone should one of the tires drop below acceptable levels.

For corporate clients, the device can also be setup to monitor up to 20 cars from one app, which also allows up to 100 users to drive and monitor different cars when sharing mode is activated.
