A standard shield face shield has 89% light transmission and, as a result, see some of your reflection from the viewing side of the face shield and glare and reflections from the external surface of the face shield.
By now people globally are wearing face masks to protect against potentially deadly infection when we leave the house. Face masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but some people find them awkward, uncomfortable, or downright unbearable to wear. Plastic face shields offer another means of deterring COVID-19 that some might find easier, said Dr. Amesh Adalja, a senior scholar with the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, in Baltimore.
They are clear plastic or plexiglass shields that cover the entire face, from the forehead down to the chin or lower. An elastic headband holds the shield in place.
Face shields have been shown to reduce viral exposure by 96% when worn within 18 inches of a cough, and by 92% at the currently recommended 6 feet of social distancing, according to a recent editorial in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

One general-use face mask with opening for antimicrobial insert. The face mask is comprised of two layers of breath- able, durable, high-tech nonwoven fabric, latex-free elastic ear bands and features a formable coated metal nose- guard to ensure a snug fit. All face masks are one size fit all. The face mask is washable up to 10 times.
One replaceable antimicrobial insert. The filter insert is comprised of one layer of silver- coated breathable, durable, high-tech nonwoven fabric.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Prior to Use: Face mask is recommended to be washed with warm water and soap. Hang to air dry. Do not wash antimicrobial filter.
- Inserting the Antimicrobial Filter: Each mask includes an opening between the two layers of fabric at the bottom. Place filter inside the opening ensuring that the filter is laying flat between the two layers.
- Using the Mask: The mask should be placed over your mouth and nose with the nose-guard located on the outer layer of fabric and directly over the bone of your nose. The elastic bands are to be wrapped around the ears to ensure a tight fit of the mask over the face. Use your fingers to bend the nose-guard over the bone of your nose to ensure there are no open spaces and snug fit. If the elastic bands are too tight, stretch them firmly to expand permanently.
- Washing Mask for Re-Use: To wash the mask, remove the filter layer and set aside. Clean hands before and after handling filter or use gloves. Use warm water and soap to hand wash the face mask. Rinse and hang to air dry. IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO WASH THE ANTIMICROBIAL FILTER. The face mask is washable up to 10 times. Caution should be used while washing around the nose guard. DO NOT MICROWAVE THE MASK FOR STERILIZATION.
- Changing the Filter: It is recommended to change out the filter after every 3 washes of the face mask. New filters can be purchased directly through Liquid X.
