The Jaasta keyboard has e-ink displays embedded in each of its keys. This allows it to change the keys’ symbols depending on what language you are using and what application you have open. For example, if a user switches to working in Photoshop, the symbols on the keys will change to reflect the actions that can be carried out with keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop.
This simple concept of dynamic keys, can be used in multiple other applications especially in automotive applications.
The two options to develop dynamic displays in PUSH Buttons is OLED’s or eInk type technology integration. While OLED displays are more impressive they may not meet assembly cost targets.
